Chloë Giselle

A modern classic, built in wood and carbon by Spirit Yachts, Ipswich

The Boat

Drawn by Sean McMillan.
Built to be sailed.

Some boats are designed to a brief. Chloë Giselle was drawn to an idea — that a yacht could carry the long overhangs and low freeboard of the classic era while sailing like something entirely of this century.

Her hull is cold-moulded wood, sheathed in epoxy: light, stiff, silent through a seaway, and warm in a way no composite hull will ever be. Above deck she carries a carbon rig by Southern Spars on ECsix rigging with titanium spreaders — a modern rig on a timeless sheerline.

She was built by Spirit Yachts in Ipswich and launched in 2015. Below, she sleeps six in three cabins, finished in the quiet, exacting joinery Spirit is known for.

Pedigree

Antigua, 2017.
Four races. Four wins.

At the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta — the proving ground of the Spirit of Tradition class — Chloë Giselle won her class twice. In 2017 she won every race she entered.
